The Program
This learning-abroad course introduces students to the healthcare delivery systems, health and wellbeing, and healing practices of Hungary and the England. Through a historical and population health lens, students will explore each country’s social, health, and wellbeing levels and trends within the context of ethics, equity, and social justice. Students will interact with care teams and engage in shared educational and volunteer experiences. Through guided journaling, students will reflect upon their experiences locally and abroad, and identify challenges and opportunities for improving health equity, and health and wellbeing within the United States, especially among structurally marginalized populations. These learning opportunities will facilitate student development as engaged global citizens with an understanding of interrelationships among self, global communities and the environment as a whole.
