The Global Citizen Project (GCP) is a transformative experience for Rutgers-Camden students to travel abroad in a program that is designed to impart meaningful activities centered around service learning, cultural immersion, and historical context. Led by a faculty member with expertise in topics indigenous to the respective country selected as a destination, students will be profoundly impacted by this experience while contributing positively to the local community under which study is conducted. Meetings are held routinely during the semester leading up to the short-term time away, typically 10-14 days. This is a non-credit-bearing course, but students are required to meet routinely throughout the semester in a class-type setting. Students will sign a commitment form to attend and fly out with the cohort when enrolling in the GCP.
Eligibility: Open only to Rutgers University-Camden students, sophomore standing minimum, good academic standing.
Fall 2025: Barbados, Dr. Eliezer Marcellus
The fall semester is currently underway with students flying to Barbados in early January 2026. The OIS will post subsequent GCP courses as they are developed.
