Congratulations on your admission to Rutgers University-Camden! In the upcoming months, we will continue to send you important information about registration, housing, orientation, and more. Meanwhile, please make note of the next steps below. 


Scholarship Notification

International students admitted to Rutgers-Camden meet qualifications for the International Chancellor’s Scholarship. Beginning in February, students will be notified via email and mail regarding scholarship eligibility.

Apply for On-Campus Housing

Newly admitted students can access the on-campus housing and dining contracts after you have activated your NetID. Housing contracts are available for incoming students in February.

Register for International Student Orientation

The OIS conducts a comprehensive, mandatory, orientation for all incoming international students.  The orientation program provides valuable information regarding maintaining your status, academic matters, student services and much more! The program also provides opportunities for you to meet with new and returning students, learn from their experiences, and make new friends. Orientation is held in August for students enrolling during the fall semester and January for students enrolling during the spring semester.

Request your I-20

Submit the I-20 Request Form, found here: I-20 Request Form. Once you have received your I-20 from Rutgers, pay your SEVIS I-901 fee at fmjfee.com and apply for your visa at a US embassy or consulate. You will receive an email reminder about one week after accepting your offer of admission to Rutgers-Camden.

Complete Placement Testing

Placement tests are required for all first-year and transfer students who are not transferring a credit-bearing, college-level course in Math and/or English. For placement testing instructions and help, please visit: https://newstudents.camden.rutgers.edu/placement-testing. International students currently abroad must complete placement tests on or before June 15th.

Submit your Final High school or College/University Transcripts

Upon graduation or completion of your final semester/term, submit your official final transcript no later than July 15 to the Rutgers-Camden Office of Undergraduate & Graduate Admissions.

Submit your Course Credit Evaluation

If you wish to transfer credit from a college/university outside the U.S., you must first have transcripts evaluated by an institution affiliated with NACES (naces.org) or AICE (aice-eval.org).  You may be required to provide course descriptions and syllabi for review by the appropriate academic departments. The most commonly utilized organizations are WES (World Education Services: wes.org) or ECE (Educational Credential Evaluators: ece.org).

*Please Note: You may not be able to register for courses without final transcripts and a credit evaluation. Please submit transcripts and evaluations to the University for review, no later than July 1st.

Attend Advising & Registration

Advising & Registration Program takes place after a student has accepted their admission to Rutgers-Camden and has completed all required placement tests. During this program students will meet with an advisor, choose courses, and register for classes. Students will be notified via email of their assigned date. Advising and Registration days take place throughout the summer.

Submit your Immunization Record

All new and transfer students are required to comply with NJ State and University immunization requirements. The requirements and reporting processes are found on the Rutgers Immunization Portal.

Pay your Tuition and Fees

Term bills will be available online at studentabc.rutgers.edu beginning mid-late July. Payment due dates begin in August. The due date will be displayed on your term bill. Term bills can be paid by credit card (online only, fees apply), check, money order or bank draft by mail or in person at the Student Accounting Office. Rutgers offers several tuition payment plans including a 12-month payment plan that begins late April. For more information, visit studentabc.rutgers.edu.

Attend International Student Orientation
