EXPLORING SOCIAL JUSTICE: EXPERIENCE THE HISTORY OF A CIVIL RIGHTS CAPITAL

Program Cost: Approximately $1,650*
Students will be escorted to various historical sites in Birmingham, Selma, and Montgomery that are part of the US Civil Rights Trail such as the Freedom Riders National Monument, the Civil Rights memorial Center, and 1977 Books an abolitionist bookstore and library. These sites will allow students to witness the very historical points where equality and freedom were fought for and discussed in social work classes. The final three days will be spent at a social work conference in Birmingham, Alabama.
